Speech Title: Novel Power Supply
Technologies for Solar-Powered Vehicle and USB-PD Charger
Abstract:
In this presentation, two novel methods related to switching power
supplies are presented. One of them is an automotive solar power generation
system resistant to partial shadows while driving. To extract maximum power
from PV panels even in partial shadows, the proposed system consists of an
isolated converter like an ideal transformer and an MPPT converter attached
to each divided PV panel. The other of them is a very small 65W USB-PD charger using with an input
active clamp technology. To reduce the rated voltages of an input smoothing
capacitor and power devices, an active switch is added to clamp the input
voltage to 140V, even at 240V outlets.
