Kotaro Hachiya

Biography: Koutaro
Hachiya was born in Miyagi, Japan, in 1968. He received the B.E. and M.E.
degrees in computer science from Tohoku University, Sendai, Japan in 1992
and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from Waseda University,
Kitakyushu, Japan, in 2007. From 1992 to 2002, he was with NEC Corp., where
he developed in-house circuit simulation tools. From 1998 to 1999, he was a
Visiting Scholar at Kiel University. From 2002 to 2007, he was a Manager
with NEC Electronics, where he developed a Chip-Package-Board co-design
environment. From 2007 to 2017, he was a Manager with Jedat, Inc., where he
developed analysis tools for semiconductor products. From 2017 to 2021, he
was a Lecturer with Teikyo Heisei University. From 2021 to 2023, he was an
Associate Professor with the same university. From 2023 to 2026, he was a
Professor with the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Teikyo Heisei
University, Tokyo, Japan. Since 2026, he has been a Professor with the
Graduate School of Science and Technology, Hirosaki University, Aomori,
Japan. His research interests include electrical design automation, edge AI
agents, and their application to healthcare. He holds eight patents. He is
also a member of ACM and IEICE.
